linda maria girón (they/them, elle) is a queer, non-binary Guatemalan-american playwright, actor, musician and visual artist born and raised on unceded Serrano land, colonially known as Los Angeles, CA. Their work takes form in writing and acting for the stage, visual art and drag, poetry and music.
Their plays include: amémonos // let us love each other (Finalist: Playwrights' Foundation BAPF, 2022, Semi-finalist: Blue Ink Award, 2022), Memoria del Silencio en el País de la Eterna Primavera (Finalist: Playwrights' Foundation BAPF, 2019) and white iris (Theater Bay Area, Cash Creates Grant, 2019.) collaborations & devised works include: DECOLONIZE YOUR SEX LIFE! (Cutting Ball Theater's Variety Pack, 2019), the site-specific immersive Port Stories (co-prod: Idiot String and The Peripatetic Players 2019), and 3GT Investigates: Birth Rights (3 Girls' Theater, Bay Area Women's Theater Festival, 2017.)
linda received a BA in Theater & Performance Studies from UC Berkeley, and they have since worked under many artistic homes in the Bay Area, including: Shotgun Players, AlterTheater Ensemble, Crowded Fire Theater, CalShakes, FaultLine Theater, SFBATCO, CentralWorks, New Conservatory Theater Center, the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts (MCCLA) and Golden Thread Productions (where they are presently on staff). Previous fellowships & residencies include: Crowded Fire Theater's Resilience & Development Lab, Shotgun Players' M.A.D. Fellowship for Artistic Directing and MCCLA's Artist-in-Residence.
Upcoming is their Shotgun Players main stage appearance as Julia in the west-coast premiere of DREAM HOU$E by Eliana Pipes, July 9th-August 7th, 2022.
